About
I run Brasserie La Chope d’Ilot: Brussels bistro, carbonnade, waterzooi, mussels and abbey beers. Rue des Pierres 33, 1000 Brussels — table@lachope-ilot.be.
Brussels, FR / NL / EN: I welcome you for lunch, dinner, or a drink at the bar.

How I host
Short menu, market produce, unfussy service. I favour the table journey (welcome, pace, the bill) over décor.
Between the room, the kitchen and contact, the site shows the house: menu, hours and bookings are online.

What guides me
A readable menu : few dishes, done well.
A frank welcome : we say what is off.
Pictures of the house : room, kitchen, service — not an agency dump.
Accessibility as a constraint, not a patch.
The demo seed should feel like a restaurant, not a portfolio.
A typical service
Arrival — I seat you, I name the 86s.
Menu — I advise by appetite and wine.
Service — the room’s pace, not a clock.
Coffee — the bill, a word, the door.
“I am not looking for the perfect restaurant. I am looking for the table you still want to come back to.”
